About the Artists

ANN HAMPTON CALLAWAY

Ann Hampton Callaway is one of America's most gifted artists in pop and jazz. A leading champion of the Great American Songbook, she's made her mark as a singer, pianist, composer, lyricist, arranger, actress, educator, TV host, and producer. Voted by Broadwayworld.com as "Celebrity of the Year" and two years in a row as "Best Jazz Vocalist," Ann is a born entertainer. She is best known for her Tony® nominated performance in the hit Broadway musical Swing! and for writing and singing the theme song to the hit TV series The Nanny. She made her feature film debut opposite Angelina Jolie and Matt Damon in the Robert De Niro film The Good Shepherd. Callaway is a multi-platinum award-winning songwriter whose songs are featured on seven of Barbra Streisand's recent CDs. She's recorded 83 CDs as a soloist and guest, and her latest critically acclaimed CD, "Finding Beauty: Originals Volume 1," debuted at number one on iTunes Jazz. Ann's honors include The Theater World Award, 17 MAC Awards, several Bistro Awards, The Mabel Mercer Award, The Johnny Mercer Award for Songwriting, The Blanton Peale Award for Positive Thinking, and her induction into The Women Songwriters Hall of Fame.

TED ROSENTHAL, PIANO

Ted Rosenthal is one of the leading jazz pianists/composers of his generation. The New Yorker describes him as “a musician’s musician who balances technique and taste.” The Los Angeles Times calls him “a pianist of rarest skill.” Rosenthal actively tours worldwide with his trio and as a soloist. He also has performed with many jazz greats, including Gerry Mulligan, Art Farmer, Phil Woods, Bob Brookmeyer, and James Moody.

MARTIN WIND, BASS

Bassist and composer Martin Wind was born in Flensburg, Germany, in 1968 and has been living in the New York City area since 1996. He earned a diploma as an Orchestra Musician at the Cologne Conservatory and completed his master’s degree in jazz composition and performance at NYU.

TIM HORNER, DRUMS

Tim Horner is a native son of Roanoke, Virginia. After graduating from Berklee College of Music in Boston in 1979, Tim moved to Brooklyn, New York, in 1980. Since moving to New York, Tim has shared the stages of so many of New York’s major venues such as The Village Vanguard, Birdland, The Blue Note, Lincoln Center, and Dizzy's Coca Cola. The artists he has worked these venues with span a large cross section of jazz history performing with people such as Hank Jones, Clifford Jordan, Pepper Adams, Joe Locke, Randy Brecker, Vic Juris, The Village Vanguard Orchestra, The Maria Schneider Jazz Orchestra, Frank Kimbrough, Roseanna Vitro, Ann Hampton Calloway, Mark Murphy, Joe Williams, Dick Oatts, Red Rodney, Mark Sherman, Ted Rosenthal, Bill Cunliffe and Rufus Reid. In this span of 41 years, he has also recorded over 250 recordings as a sideman and three of his own personal projects of original compositions. Since 2000, he has been a five-time Jazz Ambassador for the U.S. State Department, concertizing, and teaching in over 20 countries throughout the world.
