BIOS

Mandy Gonzalez

An accomplished actress, author, and performer, Mandy Gonzalez starred on Broadway as Angelica Schuyler in Hamilton, and had her breakout role as Nina in Lin-Manuel Miranda's debut hit, In The Heights, earning a Drama Desk Award for Best Ensemble. She later went on to star as Elphaba in WICKED and Aida on Broadway and has appeared in many film and TV series including the romantic drama film Across the Universe by Julie Taymor; the romantic drama film After; the crime thriller Man on a Ledge; and the HULU series Only Murders in the Building. She also performs with some of the greatest symphonies around the world. 

Mandy Gonzalez also received an OBIE Award and critical praise for the off-Broadway production of Eli's Comin', and her debut album, Fearless, hit #13 on iTunes pop charts, with the title song written by Lin-Manuel Miranda. In addition to "Fearless," her album includes songs such as a bluesy rendition of "Que Será, Será," and "Breathe," another hit written by Lin Manuel Miranda.

Dan Lipton, Music Director & Piano

Dan Lipton conducted The Band’s Visit and Sting’s musical The Last Ship on Broadway. He’s arranged music and led bands for Audra McDonald, Brian d’Arcy James and Judy Kuhn, performing at The White House, Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Kennedy Center and on PBS Great Performances, Today and Late Show with David Letterman. Dan was the pianist on three Grammy-nominated albums. Additionally, he scored the film All These Small Moments and was recently heard on piano in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and Rebecca Hall’s film Passing.

Hank Horton, Bass

Hank Horton teaches bass, pop and rock singing, songwriting, and composition at Marshall Music. Hank earned his bachelor’s from CMU and master’s from MSU, both in string bass performance. He recorded and performed with James Young and Dennis DeYoung of STYX, receiving a double platinum CD and triple platinum DVD, as well as a number one single. He is also featured on the STYX album, Brave New World, as the bass and guest vocalist. Additionally, Hank has toured with the musical adaptation of 101 Dalmatians.

Steve Wulff, Drums

Steven Wulff is a percussion educator, performer, arranger and composer located in mid-Michigan. He is a founding member of the Tala Rasa Percussion Group, which is dedicated to new percussion works. Steven has performed with many orchestras, including Lansing Symphony Orchestra and the MSU Symphony Orchestra. He also played snare drum in the Michigan State Drumline, the Detroit Pistons Drumline, and Northcoast Academy. He played with Vanessa Williams, Johnny Mathis, and Celtic Women, in addition to several off-Broadway shows.
